This mission just got a lot more complicated.

Matchbox Reunion

It had only been a few days since Ashley and Kaidan’s reunion. To Ashley, the event was still fresh and new in her mind. When they were together, Kaidan and Ashley’s omni-tools beeped simultaneously. The message came through, regarding the bar the crew was to meet at. The Matchbox… Oh the irony, Ashley thought, chuckling to herself. They made a decision to meet up a block away from the bar, going together. She had been at the F.O.B. since then, deciding what she would do. She scouted the area around the bar, just to make sure it was safe. Ash slipped on the very few civilian clothing she had with her. Wearing a white tank top, slipping on a pair of form fitting jeans, finishing off with a pair of flat boots and a cropped leather jacket. Before leaving, Ash slipped a small pistol into her boot. “Better to be safe, than sorry,” she said to herself, under her breath.

Leaving the F.O.B., Ashley started out to the bar. A cool wind blew, Ashley drawing her jacket in closer to her body. It was a cool night, and the moon finally began to break through the clouds. Ashley could making out the last bit of setting sun, basking the streets into a twilight of sorts. She was excited to see Shepard, her new crew, and Kaidan. Especially Kaidan, smirking a little to herself as she thought of him. She would have to buy him a drink tonight, as many as he could handle. She owed him that much, and Shepard. She sent a message to him, telling him to meet her at the bar instead.

Ashley finally arrived, noticing the bar was in good shape compared to the rest of the block. Listening closely, she could make out the faint sounds of music and some laughter. “Seems like they already started.” Ashley said, walking up to the door. She slipped in quietly, taking a seat at one of the makeshift tables, checking out the room and the people that inhabited it. She noticed a bulky man, tattoos sneaking up from under his shirt. A woman next to him, moving a little closer with each gesture. Finally, she saw Shepard. Sheepishly smiling, Ashley stood up, walking over to her former commander.

“S-Shepard?”, she lightly touched the Commander’s shoulder, hoping it was her and not a ghost.
